Recently I was contacted by a couple of Vintage Race Car enthusiast from Western Tennessee. They have restored two B-Modified that raced back in the late 60’s. They also have a C-Modified in the shop under restoration now. Dennis Lewis from Henderson TN and Billy Riddle from Spring Creek TN have always love the race cars and drivers from back when. When a car from one of Tennessee’s legendary driver, Jackie Hart, came up for sell, Billy jumped on it. The car #108 was in very bad shape when he picked it up. It was missing the rear-end and motor and the years had taken a toll on the body and frame. Billy teaches shop in the local high school and the kids needed a project to work on.
Dennis Lewis was the crew chief on the original #62 that Taze Lofton drove back in the late 60's. The #62 pictured above is an authentic replica of the #62 that raced back in 1968.
back in 2007, Al Mashburn from Jackson Mississippi was at a car show in Jackson Tennessee and came across these two cars. He took some pictures and passed them along to me. CLICK HERE to view his pictures of the 108 and find out other details about the car. I think the kids did a super job. CLICK HERE to view his pictures of the #62. Thanks Al for the pictures !!
